Tax Prep Information

We cater to the beginner and take you from the basics of tax return preparation and progress gradually to more advanced topics. You will be surprised at how much you will enjoy learning the dynamics of tax return preparation.

For the more advanced student, we also offer Tax Seminars on advanced tax topics at several locations.

Our courses are taught by experienced tax professionals and we offer many different options of the income tax prep course to accommodate those balancing busy schedules. In most states, our tax prep course is available in a six-week curriculum. In all states, we also offer a 12-week version of the course.

Our season for delivering tax courses typically runs throughout the fall. Courses usually start the week after Labor Day. However, most offices offer courses throughout the fall and could have courses starting as late as November. Plus, year-round, there is always the option of getting on a mailing list for future consideration.

Our tax preparation courses are economically priced. Each office set its price based on the market area. In most cases, tuition is free; you only pay for books and supplies. Check with your local office by calling 1-800-234-1040 and entering your zip code.

While taking the course is neither an offer nor guarantee of employment, we actually prefer to hire graduates from our tax prep school program. Your local Jackson Hewitt Tax Service office may have job opportunities available for you to pursue.
